Hello world!

Hi, I am a self taught 3D Artist and we all know what that means… I have read a lot of books and I mean a lot of books.  I started with Photoshop then worked my way through a mountain of Flash books then read probably every book on Lightwave until I  told myself I was ready to learn Maya.

My formal education was pretty much self taught since I would not ask questions in class but instead I told myself I’ll figure it out when I get home.  I always did so for me there was not much difference between my formal education and teaching myself. I probably learned more this way because my imagination keeps pushing me further and to keep learning.

When I first started 3D I thought texturing was what I wanted to specialize in but then I used free models found online and found out quickly some of them need more then just color and texture. I found myself in need of objects to texture so I learned how to model objects in 3D and needless to say that was a just the beginning because now the object needs an environment to reflect so more modeling.. maybe the entire room.  Well now you need lights because the room is dark and you need to get the specular to look perfect.   I still was not happy and thought something needs to move ok I will learn a little animation like curtains blowing in the wind and then maybe maybe a dog walking through the room. The next thing I knew I was taking the plunge into Character Animation.
