Inspiration

We all have that one project that sits off to the side. You have a great ideal but it never looks right.  I have this one project I never give up I started it in Lightwave and when I got to the rigging and skinning and quickly decided there had to be an easier way so I switch to Maya… so much to learn so I set it aside

Picked it back up and tried to bring it into Maya, Yikes back to the side it went. Well years past and I would think oh I could make that the beginning or that would be a good ending so I would add or change something but still not great. Then somehow I got the bright idea to make multiple scenes… oh no run don’t walk way.  In the noise and chaos of everyday life I could it calling me.  Once again here I am so I decided to cut down on so many difference scenes next I had to find a way to make all the scenes into a single movie.

I am happy to report I have figured out a way to combine all the files into a coherent movie.  Everyday I find a corner and sit down at lunch with my old friend and tell myself I am going to finish it.  I really regret the multiple scenes since I started to texture, I decided to keep it simple an use procedural texturing .  I have not used procedural since Lightwave after a could of attempts I found adding noise, wood, to the ambient channel give it just enough variance but does not overpower the scene.

A quick screenshot of the  procedural options then move them to the side of the screen and start opening the files.  I only have a handful of objects I want  to texture so I open each file texture the object save open the next file texture and so on I have my own little assembly line. Compositing was a little difficult but more on that later.  I can finally say it is done and I am happy and glad I did not give up on an old friend.

Hope you enjoy Moving Day!
